Plot/Synopsis:
The director of this film, Fernando Arrabal, himself an exile from Spain, tells a story which takes place during the time of the Spanish Civil War (1936-39). A woman nearly suffers rape by the nephew of the local nobleman but is rescued by the man’s son. The boy is an artist whose works are too modern and rebellious, even blasphemous, for his conservative countrymen. After fighting for some time with the Republican cause, both of them are arrested by the Franco faction. The boy is tortured and disfigured by his captors, but his love for the woman restores him to full life.

Plot/Synopsis:
Israel 1956. Rachel, a Jew, rather unexpectedly meets an old friend at the kibbutz where is she working as a teacher. It brings back memories of her experiences in The Netherlands during the war, memories of betrayal. September 1944. Rachel is in trouble when her hiding place is bombed by allied troops. She gets in contact with a man from the resistance and joins a group of Jews who are to be smuggled across the Biesbosch by boat to the freed South Netherlands. Germans from a patrol boat murder them all however. Only Rachel is able to escape. She is rescued by a resistance group under the leadership of Gerben Kuipers. When Kuipers’ son is captured after trying to smuggle weapons, he asks Rachel to seduce SS-hauptsturmführer Ludwig Müntze. Soon she will find out the attack in the Biesbosch wasn’t a coincidence.

Plot/Synopsis:
Spain, 1944. Officially, the Civil War has been over for five years, but a small group of rebels fights on unbroken in the northern mountains of Navarra.

Plot/Synopsis:

December 1942. Two young soldiers leave there post’s at check-point 83 i North Värmland, Sweden and make there way through the ice cold winter-night towards Nazi-occupied Norways border. Sweden stands on the brink of invasion and they want to see the enemy everybody’s talking about. Plot/Synopsis:
Hungarian filmmaker István Szabó’s moving drama concerns the occupants of an old house who gather on the eve of its demolition to reflect on their lives from World War II to the present. Plot/Synopsis:
In 1944 – during a WWII – a fascism regime has came into power in Budapest.
