Plot/Synopsis:
Four Shades of Brown is the most delightful movie ever created and is an absolute “must see” film. The movie is a 2004 Swedish film written by the comedy group Tomas Alfredson & Killinggänget. The film consists of four interweaved stories about life tragedies, with settlements related to fatherhood as the common theme. Plot/Synopsis:

This film continues from where Utvandrarna left off. Starting a new life in the New World from almost nothing is not easy. The winters and summers are more extreme than in the Old World. But the immigrants are rewarded for their hard work. They now live a better life than they did in Sweden. Bad times also come, however. The civil war starts and the Sioux Indians make a bloody uprising against the white settlers. Karl-Oskar’s family survives all these. His brother, Robert, decides to seek his fortune in the gold fields of California. He never reaches California but acquires some fortune from his boss who dies of yellow fever on the way to the gold fields. An immigrant Swede dupes him of this fortune. Robert returns to his brother where he dies from a disease contracted on the trip. Kristina, whose thoughts never leave Sweden, has several more births and gets pregnant again against the advice of her doctor…

Plot/Synopsis:

In the middle of the 19th century, Kristina and Karl-Oskar live in a small rural village in Småland (southern Sweden). They get married and try to make a living on a small spot of land. However, the small size of their land, the infertile soil, and some bad harvests makes it tough. One of their children even starve to death. Thus, they decide to emigrate to the U.S. They meet a group of farmers with their families planing the emigration under the leadership of a banned priest. They sell everything and embark for the U.S. The journey on the sailing ship is long and tedious. Some of the emigrants will never reach the New World.

Plot/Synopsis:
Insects are very similar to people in their sexual lives, as the entomologist Herr Leo Charpentier ( Anders de Wohl ) knows; some insects, like some people, are bigamists, others monogamists, and the boldest are even polygamists, not to mention the “Ipstypographus” who has three females!
Charpentier’s niece Marthe ( Karin Molander ) secretly loves her uncle, and Charpentier’s wife Irene ( Tora Teje ) loves Baron Felix ( Vilhem Bryde ), and as well the sculptor Preben Wells, a friend of the whole family ( Lars Hanson ) loves Irene, but that one is an unrequited love… so, that’s what “Erotikon”, directed by the great Swedish director Herr Mauritz Stiller, is: a film about love and insects.
“Erotikon” is a film that can be divided in two different parts: in its first part it is a high comedy with a remarkable pace and very dynamic editing; the film characters live in villas, go to the city by taxi, fly in airplanes and go to the theater; in this last scene the performance of the ballet “Schaname” is used by Stiller as a metaphor or analogy to explain in a subtle way ( as with the sexual life of insects ) that such complicated relationships have always existed, in ancient Persia ( the ballet tells the story of the Shah’s favorite who loves prince Torie, another unrequited love with a tragic ending ) as in modern Sweden ( the entwined relationships of the main characters of the film ). In the last part of “Erotikon” the pace is more slow and static ( focused to solve those complicated love affairs ), the film more romantic, but not forgetting the comedy anyway, emphasizing for this German Count the surprising ending, modern and very advantageous for the film heroes’ love interests.
“Erotikon”, filmed in 1920, is another great example of the modernity of the silent Swedish cinema ( in editing, acting, and even the audacity to show non-conventional marital relationships ), Herr Mauritz Stiller being one of its more important exponents.

Plot/Synopsis:
Eleven days before the parliamentary election, the Centre Party’s main candidate, who is about to become the next Danish Prime Minister and his wife have a car accident. His situation is critical and nobody knows if he will survive. Even his wife, who is also hospitalised, is not informed. The next day, Torp is assigned to cover the election. Quickly, he is drawn into the internal power struggle in the Centre Party where two very different politicians, Erik Dreyer and Lone Kjeldsen, show interest in gaining power and potentially becoming the next Prime Minister. Torp, the son of a previous justice minister, writes his first front-page story after a tip-off from the Centre Party press coordinator, Peter Schou. The story turns out to be “planted spin” in order to damage Lone Kjeldsen (Nastja Arcel) to allow the advantage to Dreier who benefits from her lost credibility.

Plot/Synopsis:
A woman who has been raped by a work colleague plots and executes an elaborate and humiliating revenge.
Anna, a fortyish librarian who is recently divorced, goes on a date with Martin, a middle-aged perpetual bachelor. After a little sexual groping, she is ready to call it quits. Instead, he rapes her. As she recovers from her shock over the incident, she contemplates what would constitute a similarly invasive humiliation for a man, asking herself the question, “can a man be raped [by a woman]?” Donning a good disguise, she begins to stalk Martin, causing him considerable discomfiture. She even causes him to lose a bowling tournament. After enough of this, she abducts him at gunpoint just before a party he is giving, takes him back to his apartment, and ties him in a humiliating posture on his bed, leaving his front door unlocked when she departs. This unusual drama is based on a novel by Marta Tikkanen.
