A plump and exuberant monk goes fishing, and a playful fish eludes him. First the monk uses a rod and reel, then a net; over and over, he ends up fish-less and wet. Sleepless, he tries luring the fish at night with a bank of candles. He tries a bow and arrow. The tireless and insouciant fish leads the monk through a viaduct, over irrigated steppes, across cisterns, down canals. Suddenly, the monk’s chase and the fish’s teasing flight become a spiritual journey.

Plot/Synopsis:
A boy named Volka discovers an ancient vessel on the bottom of a river. When he opens it, a genie emerges from there. He calls himself Hassan Abdurrahman ibn Khottab, or in Russian style Khottabych. Grateful Khottabych is ready to fulfill any of Volka’s wishes. But it appears that Volka should use the powers of the genie carefully, for they can have undesirable results.

Plot/Synopsis:

The successful artist and playboy Juan is a notorious seducer of women, through his ability to be just what a woman dreams of: Charming, charismatic, strong, sensitive, sexual. Plot/Synopsis:
The opera of Levente Szörényi and Zsolt Pozsgai (based on the drama written by Tibor Fonyódi) is about one of the most debated, most interesting, yet still fairly unknown period of the Hungarian history.

We are a little bit after the death of István, first king of Hungary, during the reign of Peter of Orseolo, when more and more people demand the return of the representatives of “Árpád’s Nation”. A lot of them think that one of Vászoly’s son, András should become the future king, who is forced to stay in Kiev. András is about the get married to the daughter of King Jaroslav, Anastasia, when he hears about the uproar against Peter of Orseolo. He goes back to his homeland, supported by Kiev forces to fight Peter, but suffers a humiliating defeat, since both the Emperor and Rome fails to fulfill their previous promises to send troops helping his cause. Yet, out of the blue, he is unexpectedly helped out by the so-called “black hungarians”, descendents of the old tribal leaders, commanded by his brother Levente and Vata, who ask from András the right to practice their old religion in return for their help. András gives his word, but not much later is forced to forsake with vow to gain the support of the imperial and papal forces, too, thus betraying Levente and all the people who supported his victorious fight. Hell is on the loose, the Hungarians of the old ways are hunted as prey. Suffering from bad conscience András is roaming in the Pilis forest to find Levente hoping to explain himself and the reasons for his actions. He doesnt know that unwillingly though, but he also leads the Royal Guard to his brother’s hiding place. But Shamaness Rasdi, wife of Levente performs a miracle and leads her forsaken people to the mystical Land of the Light. Only Levente stays behind to claim the Ancient Sword of Power to himself from the undeserving András.

Plot/Synopsis:
A Hungarian band plays American rock & roll and blues hits with great enthusiasm and passion, but success seems to avoid them. TV and radio don’t play their songs, sometimes even their crowd just sits and sips beer.
