Plot/Synopsis:
The inhumanity of heroin in this 1983 film is not completely different from the soon-to-break AIDS epidemic, in that seduction disguises death within its pleasures, and death rarely comes immediately or painlessly. Drawn by boredom or pushed by the crush of an uncaring environment, a few teens become hooked on heroin in this story that is set in Ostia, a bleak Roman seaport, a wasteland of the industrial age. The teens have battered, black-and-blue arms that reflect their surroundings and their similarly mangled lives of prostitution and/or armed robbery. One teen convulses from a bad mix of cocaine (with the monument to the dead filmmaker Pasolini in the background – he was killed in Ostia in 1975). While the dying teen is sped off to the hospital, her lover’s fate is not much different than her own, and only slightly more violent.
A group of drug addicts, spends all day looking for drugs with all means possible. A boy and a girl, Cesare and Michela, they decide to give up this life, the last dose of drug before quitting by this life, however, it becomes a tragedy.

Plot/Synopsis:
Marshall Antonio Carotenuto is sent to Sagliena, an imaginary little village in the center of Italy in the 50s, to assume his new mandate. Plot/Synopsis:
How Funny Can Sex Be? is an eight-episode anthology film about love, sex and marriage in contemporary, mid-’70s Italy. Some of the segments–particularly those featuring Laura Antonelli and Giancarlo Giannini–are fun, but just as many fall flat.
One of the innumerable portmanteau films produced in Italy since the 1950s; many had been helmed by multiple directors and featured the most popular film stars of the time. Some other examples, however, were made by one director as a vehicle for a particular star’s versatility (for instance, Nino Manfredi in Lina Wertmuller’s LET’S TALK ABOUT MEN [1965]). This one, in fact, follows the latter trend and featured Giancarlo Giannini and Laura Antonelli in all (but one, in her case) nine segments. However, with the 70s, a lot of vulgarity had seeped into Italian comedy and, with a title like that, the film under review here certainly falls into this category – despite the respectable fare with which both Risi and Giannini were typically associated!
