Another entry in a nearly endless string of Italian variants on George A. Romero’s zombie films, Andrew Bianchi’s Le Notti del Terrore borrows its scenario most heavily from Night of the Living Dead. The story opens with a loony professor unsealing a crypt and releasing voodoo-animated corpses, who immediately make up for lost time by devouring him and every other living human within reach. They eventually gate-crash the professor’s posh country villa where a collection of painfully annoying upper-crust types are throwing a party… and since these jet-setters are also phenomenally stupid, the shambling zombies are soon enjoying a human buffet. Virtually plotless, this silly little gore-fest may hold a certain perverse appeal for those looking forward to seeing these obnoxious characters eaten alive (at least the zombies have the good sense to keep silent). The most outrageous scene comes when a young mother is so overjoyed to see her weird, huge-headed son (played by an adult dwarf) back from the dead that she immediately decides to breast-feed him!

Plot/Synopsis:
In this Italian comedy, Amedio (Alberto Sordi) is a telephone lineman who works in remote parts of Australia. Unfortunately, for this shy, homely Italian man, all of Australia is remote. He wants a wife, and arranges for one by mail. The woman he has chosen is Carmela (Claudia Cardinale), a very beautiful mature prostitute who seeks to retire from her profession. The picture he sent her to induce her to come to Australia wasn’t of himself, but of his handsome buddy Giuseppe (Riccardo Garrone). The picture convinces her to come out, but when she arrives and meets Amedio, she says she won’t go through with the marriage because she wants Giuseppe. How will he be able to satisfy Carmela and still marry her?

Plot/Synopsis:
Marguerite, a beautiful woman of affairs, falls for the young and promising Armand, but sacrifices her love for him for the sake of his future and reputation.
A sexed-up love story for the swinging Sixties, adapted from a literary source (Alexandre Dumas’ ‘La Dame aux Camelias’wink.gif by screenwriter Michael DeForrest, and directed with freewheeling flair by Radley Metzger who, along with the likes of Russ Meyer and Joe Sarno, is credited with redefining the parameters of ‘Adult’ cinema throughout the 1960′s and 70′s. Using the scope format for the last time in his career, Metzger’s exploration of ‘la dolce vita’ is rich in visual excess (note the emphasis on reflective surfaces, for example), though the film’s sexual candor seems alarmingly coy by modern standards. Production values are handsome throughout, and the performances are engaging and humane (Castelnuovo and Gaubert are particularly memorable), despite weak post-sync dubbing. Though set in an unspecified future, Enrico Sabbatini’s wacked-out set designs locate the movie firmly within its period, and Piero Piccioni’s ‘wah-wah’ music score has become something of a cult item amongst exploitation devotees. Ultimately, CAMILLE 2000 is an acquired taste, but fans of this director’s elegant softcore erotica won’t be disappointed.

Plot/Synopsis:
This film marks the final performance of the notable French film star Pierre Brasseur, who died not long after the film was shot. One of his better-known films is Children of Paradise. In this film, an Italian industrialist (Alberto Sordi) who has made his fortune using some shady tactics, unwittingly becomes the victim and entertainment for four retired jurists. These four men (Pierre Brasseur, Michel Simon, Charles Vanel and Claude Dauphin), though retired, make it a practice to keep their legal skills sharp. Whenever a suitable villain stumbles across their path, they conduct a trial with all the trimmings. It is a form of play, but these virtuoso lawyers are quite serious about it.

On an unassuming day, a nuclear scientist is supposed to arrive with important research. His plane breaks flight patterns and lands unannounced.
