Plot/Synopsis:

Plot/Synopsis:

The narrative revolves around police officer Amadeus Warnebring, tone-deaf scion of a distinguished musical family, and his attempts to track down a group of six guerilla percussionists whose anarchic public performances are terrorizing the city. The drumming set pieces correspond to an avant-garde score with four hilariously titled movements. Where the short involved the six drummers imaginatively using standard apartment furnishings as their instruments, the feature unleashes them on an unspecified city’s civic and cultural institutions. Including an amusing backstory for each of the soberly dressed drummers as well as their nemesis, music-hating investigator Warnebring, the film creates a treat for the eyes and ears from the dull, repetitive sounds of everyday life.

Plot / Synopsis

Susan (Ada Tauler), the wife of the British consul in Haiti, arrives to live with her husband Jack (Jack Taylor) whom she hasn’t seen for years. She is welcomed by Inès (Vicky Adams), a strange lesbian who serves as a sort of housekeeper. She also gets to know Olga (Karine Gambier), a foul-mouthed and obviously nymphomaniac platinum blonde, introduced to her as Jack’s sister. Jack seems to have an incestuous relationship with his sister. Susan is troubled by strange nightmares about voodoo ceremonies. After one such nightmare, in which she dreams she has killed an acquaintance of her husband, she learns that the man has really been killed! There are other nightmares, murders and voodoo dolls.

Plot/Synopsis:
João Francisco dos Santos was a figure of no small infamy in Brazil during the 1930s – he was a flamboyantly gay drag performer who was also a notorious criminal, thoroughly unashamed of his sexual orientation and willing to defend himself with deadly force if the situation demanded. Writer and director Karim Ainouz brings dos Santos’ story to the screen in this vibrant drama seasoned with music and dance. A tall and physically imposing man, dos Santos grew up poor on the streets of Brazil; and once he reached adulthood, he shared a home in one of Rio de Janeiro’s less picturesque neighborhoods with a handful of friends, including Laurita, a streetwalker; her baby daughter; Taboo, a nightclub performer who sometimes turned tricks for extra cash; and Renatinho, one of dos Santos’ lovers. Plot/Synopsis:
Eight years after his wife was brutally murdered, Alexandre Beck receives an e-mail with images of a woman who, although older, is obviously his wife. Plot/Synopsis:
