Plot/Synopsis:
Inspired by a true story and named after the make-believe monster Turkish parents invoke in order to make their children behave, Mommo the Boogeyman tells the tender tale of two young siblings who are abandoned by their father and sent to live with their elderly grandfather. Set in the small village in Anatolia, Turkey, the film opens as Ayse (Elif Bülbül) and Ahmet (Mehmet Bülbül)’s father forsakes his children to take a new bride. When their frail grandfather proves unable to properly care for the two children, big brother Ahmet must assume the role of mother, father, and sibling to his impressionable young sister.
