Plot/Synopsis:

Leo and Louise are a young couple living together in Copenhagen. Leo often goes out with his friends Lenny, Kitjo and Louis while Louise usually stays at home. But when Louise tells Leo she’s pregnant, a spark is ignited and slowly his anger and self-hatred start building up.
Meanwhile Lenny is interested in the waitress Lea but he doesn’t know how to express himself for his whole life centers around movies. He works in the video store owned by Kitjo, whatches several movies a day and only talks about movies, directors and actors.

Plot/Synopsis:

Like many of Godard’s films, this one is about many things at once. It is a relationship drama, a modern-day retelling of Homer’s The Odyssey, and it is also about art and the conflict between commercialization and artistic expression. And, most famously, it is also a big in-joke. The title is undoubtedly a stab at the producers of the film, Carlo Ponti and Joseph E. Levine. It was Godard’s first foray into big-budget filmmaking and his first use of a star of the magnitude of Brigitte Bardot. The producers, worried about making their money back, began to request that the director make changes in the movie. Of course, someone as independent and radical as Godard did not take kindly to this. So, when Ponti asked him why he did not have a nude scene exploiting the popularity of Bardot, Godard gave him a nude scene (the one that opens the movie). Of course, he undermines it by making Bardot question whether her husband (Michel Piccoli) likes her different body parts. This change not only makes the scene more about insecurity than sexuality but also interrogates the idea of what makes a nude scene and why somebody would be drawn to it. Godard also has his stand-in, Fritz Lang, respond to the fact that he had to shoot the film in CinemaScope (which looks fantastic) by saying, “CinemaScope is fine for snakes and coffins, but not for people.” It’s no surprise that the producer in the film, Jack Palance in a hilariously obscene role, reads quick philosophical snippets from a tiny book of quotations. Following his experience on Le Mepris, Godard went into perhaps his greatest period as a director, always on his own terms.

Plot/Synopsis:

A friendship started in childhood in Selanico firstly turned into comrade in arms and then a half century brotherhood and fraternity following the same ideals until the death upon proclamation of the Republic. It was so immense brotherhood that when one passed away, the other heartedly wished the same.

The story of a generation challenging the death! The film is not merely about the life of Ataturk; instead, it is a torch enlightening a particular period and it is very humane in that it also analyzes the brotherhood, war, love and affection. “Veda” is the story of a brotherhood, portrayal of milestones in Ataturk’s life and the story of a commander commanding a generation that challenged the death to save the homeland. Salih Bozok, the number one witness of the time, narrates this story.

“Veda” does not only aim Turkish nation knowing Ataturk better, the film also intends to introduce Great Leader Ataturk to the whole world.

Italian Aldo Signoretti and Vittorio Sodano et al designed hair and make-up for the film. 1200 kg makeup materials were imported to Turkey for using in the movie “Veda”. 150 real human hairs were used in order to make wigs for the project. 2 mobile hair and make-up salons and one make-up laboratory were specially designed and produced for the make-up and hair team. Completely financed with national capital, the project hired Italian- German technical team composed of 13 members. For the first time in Turkey, 12000 pieces costumes and accessories were designed and prepared by Mr. Baran Ugurlu. The costumes were sanded, coloured and treated in order to reflect the characteristics of the time in finest detail possible. The project became the largest production in Turkey with 29 vehicles, project team composed of 98 people and 2000 figurations. “Veda” was filmed in Ayvalik, Izmir and Antalya. The war scenes were filmed in Seferihisar where is a natural plateau. Ataturk’s personal car and train car were also used in addition to real places such as Usakizade mansion. — From Turkish website

Plot/Synopsis:

An episodic look at Grace Elliott (1760-1823) and Philippe, the Duke of Orleans, during the French Revolution. In 1790, they are friends, no longer lovers. He suggests she leave France, she warns him to quit the Revolution. In 1792, she must escape Paris on foot. Plot/Synopsis:

Lucio Fulci and Edwige Fenech? Yep, that’s right. Like so many other Italian directors of the time Fulci did a lot of sex comedies so perhaps it was inevitable that at some point he would have crossed paths with one of the leading actresses. In La Pretora, Fenech plays twin sisters, one a judge and the other a porn star. Enemies of the judge devise a plan to confuse the two and create problems.It’s a bit slow going at first but there’s a good bit of Fenech later in the film. For Fulci fans this is only for completists because it’s not very Fulci-ean and has zero horror elements. It could have been done by numerous directors. Fenech fans, though, will consider it a must.
